Thrift POS System Overview & Features

Thrift store owners have unique needs that aren’t experienced by other retail establishments. They may need most, if not all, of their inventory to come from donations. They often operate as charitable or not-for-profit organizations. Thrift shops must inventory and tag unique items as soon as they are donated. Because of these distinctive factors and more, many systems lack POS features for adequate thrift store management. Watch the video below as Tim gives an overview and features of a POS system for thrift stores.

Simplicity of Use

As a thrift shop owner, you need a point-of-sale system that is simple to operate. Your employees don’t have the time or patience to learn a complicated system. If the Bepoz end-user can operate a tablet, smartphone, or cash register, they will have no problems whatsoever.
Quick Labeling Systems for Thrift Store POS
You may have hundreds of donated items coming through your thrift store each day. Your employees don’t have time to manually calculate each item by hand. Let Bepoz do the inventory tagging for you! Once you have a new item type, the description and price stay in inventory. All you have to do is print the barcode or price tag and scan the item. It will be added to the inventory and automatically removed when it is sold.

Color-Coded Rotations for Thrift Store POS

Does your thrift shop offer rotating sales? Make it easy with color-coding. Bepoz can create color-coded tags that coincide with the rotation you choose. The discounts are then automatically taken at the register based on your calendar. Not only is this an excellent marketing strategy, but it saves you time and energy.

Rounding Up for Charity for Thrift Store POS

Is your thrift shop a charitable organization? Give your customers the ability to round up their final purchases. Whether it is three cents, 30 or 99, studies have shown that customers are likely to round up for charity when asked. This is a great way to increase your charitable profits with almost no effort. Does your business not operate as a charity? You can still give your customers the option of rounding up to benefit a charity of your choice.

Other Important Features

Bepoz allows a number of other features that are beneficial to your thrift shop. You can implement a loyalty program that is managed at the point-of-sale. You can manage thrift store inventory by tracking it from one or multiple locations. You can carry out enterprise reporting for any of your stores. You can track promotions and discounts with ease.  Not only can you manage your thrift store inventory effortlessly. You can even manage security through the Bepoz system.

Hey, this is Tim with Bepoz Enterprise Point of Sale Systems. In this video, we’re going to give an overview of the features that we have for thrift stores specifically. If you’d like to see more details about any of the features that we talk about, it is possible to watch other videos that we have that drill down deeper into some of those features.
But in a thrift store, it’s oftentimes required that products are donated to the thrift store. And so Bepoz has the ability to process those donations that come in the back door and label them with a barcode label, possibly or not, and with a price tag. Of course, this is an optional feature. It doesn’t need to be used, but it is possible to be used. And when those labels are given, those labels could be put on a color rotation. So this week we’re doing pink, and next week red, and green and orange and so forth. And that those color rotations are managed and then automatically discounted according to the schedule of your color rotation.
So Bepoz both manages donation processing and color rotation. It’s also possible with Bepoz to manage a thousand different options of loyalty programs. And we do have a video that covers that in more detail. And it’s possible to manage your thrift store inventory locations. And it’s also possible to do enterprise reporting across all of your locations if you’ve got many locations, many thrift stores.
Bepoz also has the ability to roundup at the end of the transaction for donations, and be able to ask the customer if they would like to round up for charity. Specifically most often, for your charity, but for other charities.
So that’s a general overview of all the things that Bepoz does. But there’s many, many, many more things that we can do. Particularly in reporting and promotions, and discounts, and other things that help you secure your cash.
We’d love to talk to you about how we can help you, and help your organization improve your business, make your business more efficient, and make your customers more happy.
